Services

In order to maintain consistent, high quality service, Topaz has established standardized procedures which include:

Inspection, repair, maintenance, and testing of service equipment
Communication with clients regarding technical details of proposed work.
Jobsite inspections by Topaz personnel.
Hot tapping/line plugging/cold cutting procedures applicable for routine work assignments.

A percentage of the services we provide are considered non-routine and may require pre-job consultations, design work, fabrication, testing, special equipment or special operations which fall outside the scope of standard procedures. For such non-routine tasks additional written guidelines are provided as needed.

Topaz policy is that customer service is addressed on a first come, first served basis. When customers contact our Service Coordinator to schedule hot tapping, line plugging, or cold cutting work to commence on a specific date, service personnel and the necessary equipment to perform the work are immediately reserved for the job. From scheduling through job completion, the necessary resources remain committed solely to that customer for the requested time period. Once we commit to a customer, we will not betray that commitment, even if more profitable opportunities arise for us elsewhere.

Customers may arrange for jobs to commence at any hour of the day, and on any day of the year. Our service personnel arrive at the plant and report to their contact on time (usually fifteen minutes early) with the right equipment for the job, and in good working order. Even though equipment problems rarely occur, Topaz technicians carry the most likely needed spare parts with them and are trained and qualified to perform many repairs on site to minimize downtime.

Products:

In addition to field services, Topaz offers quality U.S. made specialty piping products by major manufacturers. These include hot tapping and line plugging fittings (both welding and mechanical), mechanical couplings, mechanical flanges, bolt-on leak repair sleeves, full encirclement saddles, pipeline insulators and end seals, polly pigs, gas main bags, and pressure test plugs. Whether you need a standard off-the-shelf item, or a custom piece, Topaz works to expedite completion of the order.

Our interest is in providing the right product for the application, at a competitive price and delivery. Our policy is to quote delivery times we are confident in meeting. We do not quote short delivery times just to capture an order, and then disappoint with an actual delivery longer than promised.

All products are meticulously inspected by Topaz personnel prior to stocking. Customers can be confident that when they receive any product from Topaz, it will perform as intended. All items are warehoused indoors, protected from weather and degrading UV rays. All stock is rotated on a first in, first out basis. This rotation assures fresh and functional elastomers in any fitting with mechanical pressure seals or o-rings.

Safety Performance

Topaz employees are required to make job safety equal in importance to all other company endeavors. It is our belief that workplace accidents and incidents are symptomatic of operational shortcomings, therefore the control of these incidents will promote efficient operations. Topaz permits only trained and experienced technicians to work unsupervised. Each technician is certified as having the proven expertise to operate hot tapping/line plugging/cold cutting task specific equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner. Topaz technicians carry with them all required personal protective equipment and documentation of all

required safety training.

Topaz service personnel undergo refresher safety training each year for the duration of their employment with the company. Prior to arrival at the jobsite, technicians have attended and are current in all required generic and site specific safety orientations. Training includes:
