Commercial And Institutional HVAC
When a nested mechanical contractor for one of the largest top tier data centers in the United States contacted Topaz, Inc., they faced the challenge of inserting new block valves into a chilled and condenser water loop to facilitate the future tie in of a new chiller with no system shutdown. ASHRAE standards specify data center temperatures between 68 – 77°F to prevent catastrophic system failure. An interruption in chilled water flow at this facility could have resulted in such a failure with subsequent losses of over $1,000,000.
Topaz, Inc. provided a solution by performing a dual plugging operation with a temporary bypass. This permitted the installation of the new valves in the loop, while maintaining continuous function of the system. Topaz provided the line plugging fittings, equipment and technicians to successfully complete this job on time, with no downtime and within budget!
Having over 50 years experience working with mechanical contractors in hospitals, office towers, central plants, refineries and other critical locations, Topaz has the capability to provide safe and reliable service with no interruption of flow when required.
